How to Be a Big Brand and Importance of back links..

Saturday 4 August 2012

Lots of discussions have suggested that, for bigger brands, standard on-page ranking factors like page titles, content even don’t seem to be as important if you’re a big brand and that big brands are still able to rank for really competitive keywords without some of the standard on-page elements that you might expect.

The example of which is Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream. When I looked into their site I found that it was built in almost completely Flash.

As you can see in the image above or you can visit the site here at www.benjerry.com you will find out that there’s very little content for the sake of search engines to see and determine that what the site relates to. Their page titles aren’t optimised. But somehow even without these importnat things the brand still manages to rank on first page for the term “ice cream.” So I searched and looked into it in a bit of detail to determine some of the elements that maybe search engines perceive as being a brand. After that if you are able to adjust these elements into your own specific Brand or site, you may also be able to gain some of that power that being a big brand has within the search engines.

At the start I went in to the link profile of their. I was thinking of find a lot of anchor links for the term "Ice Cream", But surprisingly what I found was only 3 to 4% of the anchor links included any of the keywords related to the search Term "Ice Cream",

The other major thing Which I determined was a huge quantity of back links they were getting. And there is nothing to be surprised as being a Big Brand always has an advantage of getting more number of back links from different sources, and this is what made me think that maybe the more number of links is forcing Google to think it as a brand. Here, at this point I feel that Link building under the current Scinario haven't lost its importance at all.

But this dosen't mean to be over crazy about links links and links, you need to be careful in term of getting links. Only try to get links good quality from the sites having good Repute and trust among the visitors. Also it needs to focus on getting more links from the discussion platforms like Forums, which gives an impact of a useful link being shared on different public forums.
Focusing on quantity of good quality links will help you recognize yourself as a brand, and as your brand grows you will find your back links to grow as well. Obiviously it depends on how you engage your visitors on the site, and how you make your content attractive for them to reshare.

So it can be concluded from the above mentioned example that, keep on building links will surely increase the number of back-links and more number of links is an obvious indication that you’re a big brand and these will be considered as pointers to boost your organic rankings.

Strategies in SEO & Influence of Social Media on web in 20Twelve

Thursday 2 August 2012

Without doubt, 2012 is going to be a year of radical change and opportunity for small and large scale businesses with the right SEO and Internet marketing strategies in place.

I have given it some time to analyze, how things may work in our favor in terms of Search Engine Ranking Positions. This post will highlight the current state of the SEO and Internet marketing landscape, and provide motivation and guidance for making the right strategic choices going forward.

What about algorithm changes?

Did that Happened to you? Did Panda and Penguin cause some gnashing of teeth and wailing over the last year or so. While there were some innocent casualties, I come down firmly on the side of Google in this matter. I am sick to death of coming across useless WebPages packed full of ads. Penguin has, on the whole, done a great job of weeding these out.
Many small businesses found their organic search traffic dyeing out. In some sense I do sympathize with them, but on the other hand you get what you pay for.
Google Penguin Update: spammy link signals (paid text links using exact match anchor text, comment spam, guest posts on questionable sites, article marketing sites, and links from dangerous sites) were among the issues for some sites affected by the algorithmic change.
Google was also hitting websites for aggressive anchor text for keywords in back-links even before Penguin. Post-Penguin, anchor text diversity becomes more critical.

Now that was what we have discussed before, the impacts of Google panda and penguin updates. What we should discuss now here is how to do better and avoid penalization from Google at the same time. Different people are sharing different thoughts on what should be done to gain higher rankings and most importantly how to sustain them.
Below is the solution to the frequently raised questions like what should be done now?? , Stop link building?? , and a few more…
The most important of all is Content Marketing …

Content marketing is undergoing massive growth right now and we’re seeing a revolution take place across all aspects of online marketing. Content has always said to be king of today and now I believe it to be a king of future too..

Influence of Social Media on Web Today..

Social Media can be utilized as a source for you to get your brand introduced to millions. Create strategies on Social media and engage people by sharing content of their interest meanwhile sharing your point of interest which will increase Brand Familiarity, Likeability and Trust.

Engage users to Re-Share your Sharing which will automatically ping that particular post to be important and most liked by Google.

Google Plus+

Google Plus is going to be the most important factor in coming few months in SEO, Google is found to be giving importance to posts and links shared on Google plus.  It is also being displayed in Google search. Without a doubt Google is pushing its new product hard enough so that atleast they can divert Big Brands to Google Plus, so in coming few months there will be no other options, other than to sign up for Google Plus..

How to Get Rid of Facebook Timeline Feature ??

Wednesday 4 January 2012

Facebook has recently introduced many new features such as new open graph, along side the much popular feature named as "Timeline". Timeline is just a complete redesign of your profile page, there isn’t anything new that has been added into Facebook but it has been redesigned from scratch. But most of the people are found wondering here and there to find ways to delete that timeline and get the old facebook profile design back. For those who didn't liked the new facebook profile design or timeline can easily disable or remove it from the profile. Here is the solution for this problem.

Instructions To GET RID OF FACEBOOK TIMELINE

In the first step it requires you to open this link : https://developers.facebook.com/apps. You'll see your app secret and API keys in this page.

Click On EDIT OPEN GRAPH You’ll be redirected to a new page as shown below

Now Click On “X” Button to delete the Read command.
OR you can also do it by completely deleting the app you created for this.
Now just wait for a couple of minutes, than go back to your profile and the timeline is removed from your profile. Enjoy using FB with your old profile.

Note:- This will remove the timeline from profiles of thoes who added it by using the Open Graph Feature. Friends who have added timeline from anybody's profile or any invitation can not remove it in this way. I am in search of any possible way to figure out that problem. In the mean time if any one of you guys know anything on it he/she is welcomed to share with us.

SEO Ranking Factors in the form of a Periodic Table

Tuesday 1 November 2011

Search engine optimization may seem like alchemy to the uninitiated. But there is a science to it. Search engines reward pages with the right combination of ranking factors, or “signals.” SEO is about ensuring your content generates the right type of signals. The chart below summarizes the major factors to focus on for search engine ranking success.

Some of the factors mentioned above influence more than others, which is weighted 1(weakest) to 3(strongest) in the above table. No single factor guarantees top rankings. several favorable factors increase odds of success. Negative "violation" and "Blocking" factors harm you chances.

Similarities and Differences between Google Plus and Facebook

Monday 4 July 2011

Since It has been announced that google is taking its new product named "Google Plus" to the market, things under discussion are mostly related to the fact that "Can Google Plus Beat Facebook ?".

The answer to this question by most of people is negative.According to many of them Google Plus needs a Lot of time in future to prove its worth as it has not the quality features which can attract people. well I think time will decide that how much will it take for the google to show up its newly launched product, but again "is it good enough for a product to come up with the features just as similar to facebook and twitter, to beat them ?."

However the points mentioned above were the public concerns but Google itself don't consider Google Plus as a competitor to facebook atleast officially it hasn't been announced, but the design, layout and features speek otherwise.

It has been noticed about the layouts of Google Plus and that of facebook are very similar,following images will show you the similarities between the well known social network and the upcoming one ;

Google Plus Layout

 Facebook Layout

It has also been noticed that Google Plus have got some of the features which are the same as of the facebook with a slight change of name in them (e.g) "Circles on Google Plus & Groups in Facebook". However,Circles on google Plus have got some unique characteristics too.

With the passage of time Facebook have developed itself to be a central buisness hub for Millions of companies around the web. Its Unique features like "Facebook apps" help people to show up there products, and "Pages" help them to promote there businesses to the targeted or selected audience, also it has been a fact that millions of normal users are addicted to Facebook and don't want to use any other social Network.

On the other hand Google Plus has jumped into the market with the following features;

and many more yet to follow, which can win the attraction of the users. If facebook want to retain its worth, it should come up with the new and inovative ideas, because from the last several months facebook have not comeup with any new thing which might take the users to the point where they can think of moving to something new like Google Plus.

No one at the moment can better describe that whether this product will go successful and beat facebook or will Google face another failiur as it already had in the form of "Buzz" ,"Google Video", "Google Wave","Friends connect" and a few others.

Twitter Launches “Follow” Button

Wednesday 1 June 2011

Another Social Media Button for Your Site
Twitter has just launched a “follow” button for websites, which allow Twitter users to follow accounts right from the sites themselves.
“For publishers and brands, adding the Follow Button to your website and using Twitter to stay connected with your audience is a powerful combination,” saysTwitter’s Brian Ellin. “People who follow your account are much more likely to retweet and engage with your Tweets, and to repeatedly visit your website.”
Interestingly, you can’t “unfollow” the brand with the button once you’re following it, like you can “unlike” a Facebook “like” from the button on a piece of content. Granted, when “liking” a brand (rather than a piece of content) on Facebook, it operates basically the same way.
Once you’re following the brand, the button will show you a box of recent Twitter activity from the brand, like so:
Twitter Follow Button box
Twitter engineer Ryan Sarver tweeted:
Along with the Follow Button, we shipped JS Events for all of our buttons and Web Intents. Read more here: http://t.co/oJOFUvm 9 minutes ago via Twitter for Mac · powered by @socialditto
Twitter has launched the follow button with 50 partner sites. Among these are: Aol, Justin Bieber, CBS News, Fox News, WordPress.com, and Sports Illustrated.
The button should help brands increase their Twitter follow count, as it, like the Facebook “like” button will become a universally recognizable symbol, no doubt, and users will realize that they can easily follow you on Twitter without leaving the page they’re on, which creates less friction in the process. Sounds like a win for brands to me. (Source : Webpronews)
